Men’s Soccer Ranks No. 4 for Third Straight Week in United Soccer Coaches Week 6 National Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo- The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team finds themselves ranked fourth in the United Soccer Coaches Week 6 National Poll for the third week in a row.

The top five ranked teams stayed the same this week with Lynn University maintaining the first spot in the nation. Colorado State University-Pueblo moves up for the second straight week as they rise to the number seven ranking after holding the ninth spot in week five. Fort Lewis College took a surprising fall from fourteenth to outside of the top 25 after dropping a match to Regis University in week six. UCCS and CSU-Pueblo are now the only top-25-ranked teams in the RMAC as  Fort Lewis received votes.
 
The Mountain Lions (9-0-2) improve upon their unbeaten record in week six with a 2-0 win over Colorado Christian University on Thursday.
 
UCCS is ranked third in the RMAC for the second straight week with a conference record of 2-0-1. Regis University (4-0 in RMAC) overtook CSU-Pueblo (3-0 in RMAC) for the first spot with victories over Fort Lewis College and Adams State University in week six. UCCS still maintains the top overall winning percentage in the conference at .909. The Mountain Lions are tied for third in the conference with CSU-Pueblo in goals with 21 and continue to lead in penalty kicks as they are now seven for nine on the season. UCCS has not only stood out on the offensive side, but defensively as well as they have allowed just seven goals and saved 81.6% of shots, both being RMAC bests.
 
Senior midfielder Dani Barajas continues to shine as he scored the go-ahead goal in the Mountain Lions' lone game of the week leaving him with six on the season and tied for the RMAC lead. Junior Forward Miles Seminario also found the back of the net this week for his fourth goal of the season as he now ranks third in the conference in shots on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Danny Fischer stood out as well as he recorded his first clean sheet as a Mountain Lion in his first start of the season during week six.
 
The Mountain Lions play their next match at home Thursday Oct. 17 against Fort Lewis College with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. before heading to ASU Soccer/Lacrosse Field in Alamosa, Colo. on Sunday Oct. 20 to take on Adams State University at 2:30 p.m. (MT).
