HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountain Lions battled adversity early, as the 13th ranked Rangers jumped out to a 14-3 lead, forcing UCCS to burn both of their timeouts. Kills from Lauryn Shockley and Nicole Medlin gave the Mountain Lions some momentum, but wouldn't be enough to overcome the early deficit. The Rangers notched 16 kills, taking the first set 25-7.
- Two kills from Raegen Emery knotted the second set at two points apiece. Regis would respond with a 6-0 run, never surrendering their lead. The home team hit .526 in the set, while the Mountain Lions had six of their attacks blocked at the net. UCCS now found themselves in a two sets to none hole.
- The third stanza started out close, as another Emery kill gave the Mountain Lions a 4-2 lead. The Rangers, as they did all night, responded with a large run (9-2), forcing UCCS to take an early timeout. The visiting Mountain Lions would put up their best set of the night, getting eight kills in the set, but it wouldn't be enough. Regis took the set 25-16, sweeping UCCS in this non-conference bout.
