BILLINGS, Mont. – On a warm Saturday at Yellowjacket Stadium, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs closed out their first road trip of the season with a 3-0 shutout win over Montana State University Billings.

All-Time Series: The Mountain Lions improve to 10-2-2 all-time against the Yellowjackets.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After 41 minutes of scoreless action to begin the game, graduate student Marvin Putu threaded a pass inside to Lars Walczyk who fired a right-footed strike past the MSUB goalkeeper to put UCCS ahead 1-0 in the 42nd minute.
- UCCS would strike once again in the 44th minute as freshman Miles Seminario found Abe Lopez on a long pass down the field to increase the Mountain Lion's cushion to 2-0 heading into halftime.
- Senior Kolby Raineri would put the game out of reach in the 86th minute, scoring an unassisted goal after making a move around a Yellowjacket defender to close out a 3-0 victory in favor of the Mountain Lions.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
- Three different Mountain Lions scored in the victory, with Walczyk recording his second goal of the season and Lopez and Raineri each tallying their first goals of the campaign.
- Seminario and Putu were each credited with one assist, the first of the season for both players.
- As a team, the Mountain Lions held the advantage in shots (20-11), shots on goal (9-5), and corner kicks (8-3).
- Raineri led the team with four shots and three shots on goal, while 12 other UCCS players also recorded at least one shot in the match.
- Seminario and Carlos Vargas each tallied a full 90 minutes on defense as the team kept MSU Billings off the scoreboard.
- Goalkeeper Declan Domyan tallied four saves across 90 minutes in frame to earn his third clean sheet of the season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- With the win, the Mountain Lions extend their unbeaten streak against MSU Billings to four games dating back to Oct. 17, 2004.
- Marvin Putu, who led the GNAC with seven assists in 2021 as a member of the Yellowjackets, recorded his first assist as a Mountain Lion while playing against his former team.
- With three shots on goal in today's win, Kolby Raineri moves into a tie for seventh all-time in the category with 53 in his career. The Ankeny, Iowa, native needs just five more SOG to tie Jeff Bettner for sixth all-time in program history.
- After today's performance, the Mountain Lions are averaging 18.25 shots per game and limiting their opponents to just 8.75 shots per game through the first four games of the season.

- The Mountain Lions will return home to Mountain Lion Stadium next week for a pair of home games as they prepare to take on Lubbock Christian University at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7 before hosting St. Mary's University for an 11:30 a.m. kickoff on Friday, Sept. 9.
