How It Happened | Game One
  • The Mountain Lions got off to a quick start in the bottom of the first inning as they brought in three runs thanks to a lead-off homer run by Morgan Hernandez-Belew and a pair of doubles by Paige White and Peyton Reisman.
  • The Mountain Lions would add to their lead in the second inning with an RBI triple by Hernandez-Belew to drive in Mia Perez. Hernandez-Belew would later score on a stolen base by Briana Mattos. Chadron State would get those two runs back in the top of the third with two RBI singles to get the score to 5-2.
  • Paige White led off the bottom of the third inning with a line drive solo homer in the bottom of the third to extend the lead to 6-2. She'd add an RBI single in the fourth inning where they'd also scratch across another run on a Solana Martinez sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 8-2.
  • Things would get stressful in the top of the seventh inning as Chadron mounted a comeback scoring four runs, in big part by a three-run home run by Addison Spears. Braelyne Crenshaw was able to lock things down after that shutting the door and getting the Mountain Lions the win.
