COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Eleven-year-old Joshua Ndahayo of Team IMPACT signed his National Letter of Intent and has officially joined the 2022-23 University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball program, announced tonight by head coach
Jeff Culver along with Josh's family during a formal announcement tonight on the campus of UCCS.
"We are absolutely thrilled to have Josh join our Mountain Lion family," Culver stated. "We believe him to be the missing piece to our program's championship intentions."
The Mountain Lions are in their first year partnering with Team IMPACT. Team IMPACT is a two-year program that matches children facing serious illness and disabilities with college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience for everyone involved.
Founded in twenty eleven, team impact has matched more than twenty-three hundred children at seven hundred colleges and universities.
Joshua is a loving, active, and resilient young man who loves watching his favorite athlete Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Joshua's dream vacation is to one day visit Japan as he also enjoys watching Pokémon and The Avengers.
The Mountain Lions are scheduled to open their season at home on Friday, Nov. 11 as they take on Cameron University at 7 p.m. inside the Gallogly Events Center.
