COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colroado Colorado Springs men's basketball team is once again picked to finish as one of the top eight best teams in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference ahead of the 2026-27 winter season, as Brody Hull gets the nod onto the Preseason All-RMAC team as well.

The RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll is voted on by the leagues 15 head coaches, with coaches prohibited from voting for their own team. 14 points was awarded for a first place vote, with each place vote descending in points to 1 for a last place vote. 196 points is the maximum a team can earn ahead of the season.

For the second straight season, Black Hills State University was picked as the top team heading into the 2027-27 campaign which begins on November 13th, as BHSU earned 12 first place votes and one second for a total of 192 points. Colorado State University Pueblo was picked second as the ThunderWolves garnered one first, nine seconds, and three third place votes, for a total of 178 points. Colorado School of Mines rounded out the top three with one first place vote, three second place votes, and seven third place votes for a 153-point total.

After finishing eighth in the conference and falling to BHSU by just one point in the RMAC Tournament Quarterfinal last season, UCCS enters the year tied with Colorado Christian University for seventh, bringing in 111 points. Just ahead of UCCS and CCU is Colorado Mesa University with 116 points. The rest of the tournament places belong to Fort Lewis College (4th, 138) and Metropolitan State University of Denver (5th, 125).

Along with the coaches' poll, the Preseason All-RMAC team was announced as well, as the Mountain Lions' forward Brody Hull was selected. Hull finished the 2025-26 season as an All-RMAC Honorable Mention while averaging 12.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game for UCCS. The Australian native will look to pick up where he left off and continue to be a focal point of the Mountain Lions' offense as he has established himself as one of the best forwards in the RMAC.

Hull and the UCCS Men's Basketball team begin their season on November 13th at home against Cameron University. Tip off for that game is set for 3 p.m. MT.
