DENVER, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball team fell to the No. 17 ranked Regis University Rangers in three sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set belonged to the Rangers. After trailing 2-1, they stormed back, scoring five straight points, never giving the lead back to UCCS. Regis notched 17 kills, attacking at a .406 clip, to take the match's opening set 25-13.
- The Mountain Lions fought back in the second set, taking an 8-6 lead thanks to a service ace from Joei Barela. A Hannah Ammerman kill gave UCCS their largest lead of the match, leading 14-10. With the score knotted at 25, Regis would go on to score two straight points, giving them a commanding two set to zero lead.
- The Rangers never trailed in what would be the match's final set. Regis got out to a quick 12-4 advantage, scoring two points off of back to back aces by Hannah Kepler. While UCCS registered three blocks and seven kills in the set, it wouldn't be enough, as the Mountain Lions drop the third set, 20-25.
MATCH STATISTICS
- Reigning RMAC Offensive Player of the Week, Raegen Emery, led the team with seven kills on the afternoon. Nicole Medlin paced the team with a .364 hitting percentage (four kills on 11 attempts).
- UCCS dug up 36 Ranger attacks. Jordyn Kinsey led the team with 11 digs, with Mackenzie Ransom adding eight digs.
- Barela recorded both of the Mountain Lions aces while also registering three digs.
- As a team, UCCS recorded a season low in kills (23) and assists (18).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- With 11 digs today, Kinsey inches closer to taking sole possession of third place for career digs (Laura Meeter, 1,688 digs). Kinsey sits at 1,554 digs for her career.
- Emery has now led the team in kills in three of her last four games, totaling 35 kills over that time period.
