COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team earned their first home win of the season, out-running the Adams State University Grizzlies, 68-55.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountain Lions made this a track meet from the jump as they made it a point to break ASU's aggressive press defense. The Mountain Lions scored their first six points running the fast break. They finished the quarter with a four-point lead, 15-11.
- UCCS continued a strong first quarter with an even stronger second quarter as they got ASU into foul trouble early forcing drives into the lane and getting to the free throw line making 4-of-7 attempts. Ines Latapia came alive in the second quarter putting up five of her nine first half points consecutively to help build a halftime lead to 35-23.
- The pace of the game slowed down in the third quarter as UCCS got 16 free throws in the quarter. UCCS outworked the Grizzlies in the quarter registering 13 rebounds and six steals. Their work at the charity stripe was the key to winning the quarter and taking a 13-point lead into the final frame, 52-39.
- It was a strong closing effort from the Mountain Lions as Adams State posted their highest scoring quarter in the fourth as both teams tried to push the pace frequently. A big quarter and game from Gracie Haneborg led the closing charge for UCCS, scoring five of her 14 points.

- Jasmine Jeffcoat put up a game high 15 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field.
- Agar Farres crashed the boards with a game high nine rebounds.
- The Mountain Lions ran early and ran often as they scored 26 points in transition.
- UCCS shot a strong 42.3 percent from the field while ASU shot 34 percent.

- With the win, UCCS sweeps the season series against and increase their winning streak to nine games against Adams State.
