HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first quarter was all Mountain Lions as they started with an 8-2 run to open the game, getting four points apiece from Alexa Dominguez and Ellie Moore. After a three from CSUP, UCCS would finish the quarter 10-1 leading to a 18-6 score.
  • The second quarter completely flipped as UCCS went cold from the field, shooting a brutal 1-for-13 from the field and getting their only basket and point in the quarter on their opening possession. The rest of the quarter was all Thunderwolves as they scored the next 11 points to cut the UCCS lead to a halftime score of 20-17.
  • Things picked up in the third stanza, but not much as the CSUP defensive pressure kept UCCS in check for the remainder of the game. The UCCS forwards did the heavy lifting as they accounted for all three made shots in the quarter. CSUP went into the fourth with a 35-28 lead.
  • It was more of the same in the fourth quarter as UCCS could not get anything going on offense. UCCS shot just 2-for-11 from the field in the quarter. Gracie Haneborg made both field goals and all four of her points in the quarter. CSUP finished the game on a 16-2 run.
