Jadyn LeDoux comes away with a brace in the 3-0 win over Saint Leo University.

Series: Friday's match served as the first matchup between both teams as UCCS now leads 1-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• UCCS was dialed in from the start with freshmen
Fie Steenberg and
Jadyn LeDoux breaking through the SLU backline for a score at 3:44. UCCS quickly changed possession off the Lions' corner kick as Steenberg found LeDoux for the early 1-0 lead.
• On the other side of the ball, a staggering UCCS defense limited Saint Leo to just two shots in the first half, including a shot on frame in the 21
st minute that
Chloe DeShazer saved to maintain the 1-0 advantage.
• Later in the 29
th minute, the Mountain Lions went back on the attack with
Tarah Patterson and
Makayla Merlo registering a pair of scoring attempts that were just short of increasing the UCCS lead.
• In the second half it was redshirt senior
Tori Maydew that extended the lead as an impressive unassisted strike pushed the Mountain Lions to 2-0 over SLU in the 60
th minute.
• After the second score, UCCS dispossessed the Lions' minute by minute as SLU failed to get a shot off.
• Then in the 85
th minute, high school teammates
Sydney Lasater and LeDoux closed the door on SLU as Lasater fed LeDoux her second score of the game to give UCCS the 3-0 final.
STATS FROM THE DAY:
• UCCS more than doubled SLU's shots (11-5), shots on goal (9-3), and corner kicks (3-1) in the contest.
• Freshman
Jadyn LeDoux recorded her first college goal and brace as she was perfect on the day with two shots, two shots on goal, and two scores for four points.
• Six different Mountain Lions registered a shot in the match as
Tarah Patterson led the way with four shots and three shots on goal.
• Chloe DeShazer and the Mountain Lions notch their second consecutive shutout as DeShazer moves to 4-1 after bagging three saves.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Tori Maydew is now tied for eighth all-time in the program's record book after netting her 15
th career goal.
• Jadyn LeDoux and Maydew now represent the third and fourth Mountain Lions to have two goals on the season.
