PUEBLO, Colo. – After a tight first half that resulted in a 5-5 tie between the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team and Colorado State University Pueblo, the Mountain Lions stormed ahead in the second half Saturday night, outscoring the home team 12-4 at Gonzales Stadium in Pueblo, Colo. Tonight's win marks UCCS' first win over CSUP in four meetings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half featured five goals from each team, including three ties and two lead changes.
- Natalie Church found Audrey Napp just 23 seconds into the game for a 1-0 UCCS lead.
- The ThunderWolves quickly tied the game and then took a 2-1 lead in less than four minutes from the Mountain Lions first goal.
- Miranda Smith netted her fourth goal of the season to knot the game at 2-2. Napp registered her second goal of the game on a free-position goal, giving UCCS a 3-2 lead.
- With only 11 players on the field with 10:46 left in the first half, Mallory Corrigan gave the Mountain Lions a 4-2 lead.
- The Pack took advantage at 8:39 playing with one more attacker on the field, netting a goal to cut the Mountain Lions lead down to 4-3.
- A Miranda Smith goal with 7:37 left in the opening half boosted UCCS' to 5-3, but the two-goal advantage disappeared as the Pack struck twice to knot the game going into halftime, 5-5.
- The second half started quick for UCCS just like the first half when Church found the back of the net just 28 seconds from the first draw to give UCCS a 6-5.
- The Pack answered with back-to-back goals to snag a 7-6 lead, but the rest of the half belonged to the Mountain Lions.
- Angela Naughton tied the game at 7-7 at 25:48 in the second half that sparked an 11-0 run by UCCS. The Pack would add the final two goals of the game, but they came late in the final three minutes of action.
- Naughton notched four goals and one assist during the 11-0 second half run as Church chipped in three goals and an assist.
STATS FROM THE GAME
- Three Mountain Lions posted hat tricks tonight as Naughton and Church each scored four goals. Church led UCCS with six points as she added two assists while Naughton posted one assist.
- Smith finished with four points on three goals and one assist.
- UCCS outshot the Pack, 38-29, as Naughton notched a game high 11 shot attempts.
- Five Mountain Lions picked up at least three ground balls as Napp led the team with eight.
- Madison McGriff played all 60 minutes in goal, making 15 saves.
- Holly Sodomka won a game high five draws as UCCS won 15 of the 28 draw controls.

The Mountain Lions will head to Salt Lake City, Utah to take on Westminster College on April 9 at 6 p.m. UCCS will wrap up their six-game road trip on April 11 at Colorado Mesa University.
