Women’s Soccer Remain Undefeated in a 1-0 Shutout Win Over Regis

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team keep their perfect record with another win this weekend against Regis University, 1-0, at Mountain Lion Stadium.

Records: UCCS (4-0-0, 2-0-0 RMAC), Regis University (2-1-1, 0-1-0 RMAC)

All-Time Series: UCCS currently trail the all-times series against RU with four wins, 10 losses.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kaitlin Hinkle took the first shot of the game just over two minutes into the game but missed just to the left.
  • At 12 minutes in UCCS took the lead with Kelsey Lanham netting the ball and the assist by Amelia Junge.
  • The Rangers were not able to get their first shot of the game until 25 and a half minutes in where UCCS Goalie, Chloe DeShazer denied access.
  • UCCS outshot RU 8-2 in the first half.
  • Regis picked up their offense in the second half with three shots.
  • At just over 49 minutes in the game DeShazer saved the only shot on goal in the second half.
  • Jaden Davis tried to cushion their lead at 63 minutes in but was denied by Rangers' goalie Julia Coombs.
  • With just under 70 minutes Tori Maydew tried advancing the UCCS lead with a low right goal but was once again denied.
 
STATS FROM THE GAME
  • DeShazer tallied three saves for the game and has won her first game of the season.
  • Hinkle led the team in shots with four for the game and one on goal.
  • Junge increased her assists with one.
  • UCCS outshout RU 13-5.
