COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball were not able to get shots to fall against Colorado Christian University Cougars, 47-54.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CCU got the first point of the game off a free throw two minutes and 15 seconds into the first quarter.
- Elly Moore sunk the first basket for the Mountain Lions putting the score 2-1, and that would be the only lead UCCS had for the first half.
- Tatum Tellin worked to keep UCCS in the fight by sinking two jumpers just outside the paint in the last two minutes of the first quarter, bringing the score to 10-13.
- Bo Shaffer was fouled off a steal in the final six seconds giving the Mountain Lions the final possession where Abby Fieckert sunk a jumper off the buzzer to make it 14-15.
- Jessica Nation and Anna Davern had the only points in the second quarter with two each.
- The Mountain Lions went on a 4-12 run to finish out the first half 18-27.
- UCCS struggled to get anything to fall on the offensive end in the third quarter, but Nation sinks a three with under one minute to decrease the CCU's lead 36-44.
- Mercy Gonzales started the fourth quarter off strong for the Mountain Lions with a steal, but unable to finish at the other end.
- Selena Cudney worked to keep UCCS in the fight with a lay-up to eat away at the deficit, 42-48.
- The Cougars defense proved difficult for the Mountain Lions to break with CCU forcing 12 turnovers and getting seven points off those to finish the game 47-54
STATS FROM THE GAME
- Nation achieved a double-double tonight finishing with 14 points and a career high 10 rebounds. Nation shot 4-8 (50%) from the field, 2-4 (50%) from behind the arc, and 4-4 (100%) at the charity stripe.
- Tellin had a strong night both offensively and defensively with 13 points, four rebounds, and shooting 5-5 (100%) from the line and 4-10 in the paint (40%).
- Shaffer played strong defense with two steals and four rebounds for the night.
- For the Courgars Lourdes Gonzalez was hard to stop shooting 50% from the field (5-10) finishing with 16 points, 11 rebounds, one steal, and one assist.
