COLORADO SPRING, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team fell in a defensive battle Monday afternoon inside Gallogly Events Center to Regis University, 54-47. The game was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, Jan. 9 but was rescheduled due to COVID-19 testing and protocols.

All-Time Series: Regis leads UCCS in the all-time series, 32-20. The Rangers have won the last five games against UCCS.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Tatum Tellin drained a three-pointer with 42 seconds left in the first quarter to give UCCS their first lead of the game, 11-9.
Regis responded with a three-pointer on their first possession of the second quarter, retaining the lead, 12-11. The Rangers held the lead the remainder of the game.
UCCS held the Rangers to just 3-of-18 field goals in the opening quarter (16.7 percent), but were outscored by RU in the second stanza, 27-13.
The Mountain Lions went into halftime trailing Regis, 36-24.
Kaity Hovasse scored the first two points of the second half with back-to-back free throws, but the Rangers went on a 7-0 run to take a 17-point lead, 43-26.
Both teams combined for 15 points in the third quarter before UCCS finished the final stanza, outscoring Regis, 17-9.
STATS FROM THE GAME
Abby Feickert tied for game high honors with 13 points. Feickert made 5-of-14 field goals and added three rebounds and an assist.
Hovasse came off the bench to chip in 10 points after making 4-of-8 field goals. She also pulled in six rebounds, the second most on the team.
Elly Johnson snagged seven rebounds to go with her two steals and four points.
Whitney Jacob led the Rangers with a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double performance.
UCCS finished the game shooting 31.7 percent from the floor (19-60), 17.6 percent from downtown (3-17), and 54.5 percent from the line (6-11).

The Mountain Lions will continue their home stand this Thursday, Feb. 4 against Western Colorado University. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
