Mountain Lions Fall Short of No.16 Colorado School Of Mines, 54-41

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Strong second quarter for the Colorado School of Mines was enough to keep the Orediggers ahead of the Mountain Lions, as they win 54-to-41.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • It was a tightly contested first quarter as CSM led 15-13. Maison White got things going in her first game back from a five-game absence with three points.
  • The Orediggers dominated the offensive glass in the second quarter picking up seven offensive rebounds leading to six second-chance points. CSM gained separation with their best shooting quarter of the game and taking a halftime lead of 32-25.
  • Neither team shot particularly well in the third quarter as the teams combined for just 16 points. Turnovers troubled the Mountain Lions as they had six in the quarter.
  • CSM finished strong in the fourth quarter winning the quarter by four. Agar Farres tried to lead a comeback with five straight points with under four minutes to go in the game.
STATS FROM THE GAME
  • Farres was strong on the boards snatching up a team-high seven rebounds.
  • Jessica Nation had a strong night leading the team with 10 points.
  • Alexa Dominguez led the way passing the ball with three assists.
  • UCCS shot a season low 30.8% from the field.
