HOW IT HAPPENED:
• UCCS and MSU Denver traded shots in the opening 45 minutes as both teams recorded nine shots in the first half.
• Right before halftime, the Mountain Lions strung together three consecutive shots in the final 90 seconds to put the Roadrunners on their heels. As MSU Denver's Kayla Caballero attempted to clear a UCCS attack in the 45

• The UCCS offense and redshirt senior
Tori Maydew wasted no time coming out of halftime to go back on the attack as she landed one of her game high five shots on frame that Caballero saved. The Roadrunners generated some offense of their own by following up with two shots, one of which landing on goal that freshman goalkeeper
Emily VanGundy kept at bay to preserve the 1-0 UCCS advantage.
• At the 58
th minute, the Mountain Lions stayed up on an MSU Denver goal kick to cause a dispossession as
Fie Steenberg led
Makayla Merlo who fired an incredible shot across her body on the right side of the box into the top left corner of the net to extend the UCCS lead, 2-0.
