HOW IT HAPPENED:
• It was the tale of two halves on Thursday with the Mountain Lions jumping out to a fast start with two first half goals.
• The Mountain Lions found their rhythm early on as five shots and two shots on goal in the first 13 minutes opened things up for the UCCS offense. At 13:46 Tarah Patterson put the Mountain Lions ahead with the first goal of the game that started with a Makayla Merlo pass to Makenna Fowler who positioned a center ball for a Patterson finish.
UCCS continued to push forward later in the half where Patterson and Fowler strung together a double assist from a throw in on the far sideline as Jadyn LeDoux fired a strike from center box into the left side of the net for a 2-0 Mountain Lion lead in the 27th minute.
• After shutting out the Rangers in the first half and holding them to just two shots and no shots on goal, the momentum shifted with 20 minutes left remaining in the match as Regis came back with two goals of their own.
• RU's first goal came off of the foot of their leading goal scorer Kelby Kuo who cut the deficit in half at 68:30 with a left footed goal from the top of the box. Then at the 80th minute, the Rangers hit the equalizer with a shot from Gia Lemley who found the back left corner of net to send the game into overtime.
• Regis provided the first shot in extra minutes with Alexis Walker picking up the save and quickly putting the Mountain Lions back on the offensive side of the ball. Patterson gained possession down the field and found a crease near the top of the box where she met RU goalkeeper Katelyn Martin who dove and deflected the ball to a wide open Kaitlin Hinkle that split the frame for the golden goal at the 94th minute.

STATS FROM THE DAY:
The Mountain Lions outshot the Rangers 19-10 in the contest while also holding the advantage in shots on goal (11-3), and corner kicks (6-2).
• Four Mountain Lions never left the pitch as Jade Kinsey, Katie Puchino, Zoe Sims, and Makayla Merlo all played the full 94 minutes.
Tarah Patterson registers three points off of a goal and an assist as she records a game high six shots and four shots on goal.
• Defender Makenna Fowler notches two pints in the contest after claiming two assists in the overtime win.
