COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – It was a tale of two halves as the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team jumped out to a 2-0 first half advantage before ultimately falling by a score of 5-2 to No. 22 Colorado School of Mines on Sunday afternoon at Mountain Lion Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sophomore Alex Andersson continued his impressive run as his tenth goal of the season put the Mountain Lions on the board first in the sixth minute. Redshirt senior Liam McGuire headed the ball in the direction of Andersson, who drove towards the net and punched it in for a 1-0 UCCS lead.
- McGuire was back at it in the 14th minute, this time on the receiving end of a pass inside the box from junior Kolby Raineri. Raineri fired a cross to a sliding McGuire, who tapped the ball into a wide-open right side of the net to push the Mountain Lion's advantage to 2-0.
- Trailing 2-0 at the half, the Orediggers came out of the break pushing the offensive tempo, and it paid off in the 60th minute as Tristan Semelsberger drove to the outside of the penalty box and fired to the left corner of the net to cut the Mountain Lion's lead in half, 2-1.
- CSM was not finished, as they would continue their aggressive offensive attack and even the game at two with a goal from sophomore Chris Seery in the 63rd minute before adding the go-ahead goal in the 67th minute as freshman Quin Collins put the Orediggers up 3-2.
- No. 22 nationally ranked Colorado School of Mines would put the game away late in the second half, scoring additional goals in the 70th and 83rd minutes to take a 5-2 victory.

- With his 12th career assist this afternoon, Liam McGuire moves into the top-ten in program history for career assists (T-8th).
- With his goal in the 6th minute of today's match, Alex Andersson became the 13th Mountain Lion in program history to record ten goals in a season.
- The Mountain Lions honored three graduating seniors prior to kick-off; goalkeeper Jake Zink, forward Adam Baldwin, and midfielder Jose Zertuche.
