COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Entering the fourth set with a 2-1 match lead Saturday night, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball team dominated Westminster College in the fourth set, holding the Griffins to only 10 points (25-10). The win improved UCCS' record to 6-13 on the season and 3-9 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UCCS started the match taking the opening set, 25-22, after jumping to a 5-0 lead. The Mountain Lions edged the Griffins in kills, 16-11, despite the Griffins blocking four attacks.
- Westminster countered in the second set, taking a 2-0 lead they would not relinquish as Lydia Miller led the Griffins with five kills. UCCS used a .257 hitting mark behind 11 kills and three aces to take the third set, 25-21, and regain the match lead, 2-1.
- The Mountain Lions dominated the fourth and final set, 25-10. UCCS' first four points of the set all came from WC attacking errors. Hannah Ammerman put down the first kill of the set for UCCS to give the Mountain Lions a 6-1 lead. One rally later, Ammerman posted back-to-back kills that gave the Mountain Lions a 10-3 advantage as they cruised to the match win. The Mountain Lions served up four aces and added 12 kills and three blocks to put the match away and hand WC their 17th setback of the season.
MATCH STATISTICS
- Three Mountain Lions notched double digit kills as UCCS finished the night with 51 kills and a .254 hitting percentage.
- Raegen Emery and Lauryn Shockley tied for match high honors with 11 kills each while Ammerman added 10 kills and only one hitting error for a .375 attack percentage. Shockley finished the match with a double-double as she dug up 12 attacks.
- Jordyn Kinsey, Madison McIntosh, Maren Burkhart and Shockley each served up two aces and Ammerman added one more for nine aces on the night.
- Emily Ettel accounted for 38 of the Mountain Lions 45 set assists while assisting on two blocks.
- Burkhart defended the net with five block assists as Grace Ferguson and Shockley each assisted on three.
- Both teams notched 51 kills and combined for 17 blocks. The Griffins were led by Katie Jacox, Miller and Maya Hamaoka's 11 kills each.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Emery had a career night with 11 kills, 24 attempts and one block assist.
- McIntosh's two aces were a career high while Burkhart blocked a career high five attempts.
- Three of the Mountain Lions four wins this season have come at home.
