GOLDEN, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs comes up short in Golden, Colo. on Sunday as two late second half goals from Colorado School of Mines result in a 2-1 loss inside Stermole Soccer Stadium.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

Series: UCCS trails the all-time series against the Orediggers, 5-16-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Both offenses were held in check in the opening 45 minutes with the Mountain Lions and Orediggers combining for 12 shots and five shots on goal in the scoreless first half.
• Two of UCCS' three shots on goal came within the first 10 minutes as
Kelsey Takahashi and
Amelia Junge each registered a shot in frame.
• In the second half, the Orediggers recorded two shots and one shot on goal to start the half with freshman
Emily VanGundy keeping CSM out of frame after collecting her third save of the game.
• UCCS then captured the offensive momentum as Junge,
Sydney Lasater, and
Jadyn LeDoux challenged CSM's Sierra Roth in goal by firing off a combined off four shots on goal in the span of 14 minutes. LeDoux accounted for two of those quality shots in the 70
th minute but the Orediggers maintained the scoreless tie.
• At the 77
th minute, the scoring commenced with CSM's Emi Higgins scoring off of a deflected shot to give CSM the 1-0 advantage. Under a minute later, the Orediggers found the back of the net again with an unassisted Landry Corbett goal extending the lead, 2-0.
• The Mountain Lions would not roll over with 11 minutes left in the match as a double-assist goal put UCCS on the board and cut the deficit in half. Redshirt senior
Tori Maydew and LeDoux paired up for the double-assist as LeDoux found Lasater who delivered an impressive strike at 84:25 to bring the score to 2-1.
• The Mountain Lions came rushing back in the 85
th minute to setup a corner kick but were not able to capitalize as CSM came away with the win, 2-1.

• UCCS held the advantage over the Orediggers in shots (15-14), shots on goal (8-6), and corner kicks (8-5).

Amelia Junge,
Sydney Lasater, and
Jadyn LeDoux each registered a team high three shots as Junge, Lasater, and LeDoux all notched a game high two shots on goal.
• Makayla Merlo,
Zoe Sims,
Katie Puchino, and Fischer all tallied 80 minutes or more in the match with Puchino and Sims not leaving the pitch.
