HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After 25 minutes of scoreless action to open the match, the Mountain Lions jumped out to a 1-0 lead as Sybren Russell threaded a pass into the right side of the box to Alex Andersson, who dodged a defender and fired a strike with his right foot into the top left of the net for the score.
- Fort Lewis would bring the score back to even at 1-1 just three minutes later when a shot by FLC forward Gabriel Legendre was deflected by UCCS goalkeeper Andreas Kokoska directly to Skyhawks defender Denis Celik who converted on the wide-open shot at the net.
- UCCS would regain the advantage in the 33rd minute when Andersson sent a corner kick into the center of the box, where junior Nic Grotle was waiting to head the ball to Kolby Raineri who directed the ball into the net with his head for the goal.
- With less than three minutes remaining before the end of the first half, the Skyhawks would again even the score at 2-2 when Matt Baldridge drove into the box and scored after a deflected shot bounced in his direction.
- The Mountain Lions would once again recapture the lead in the 52nd minute when Andersson converted on a penalty kick after Raineri was fouled while driving in the penalty box.
- The Skyhawks would spend the remainder of the half searching for an equalizer, and in the 83rd minute found it as they scored off a direct free kick from 25 yards out to tie the game at three.
