COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – No. 5 UCCS Women's Soccer mounts an impressive come from behind victory over Westminster College on Friday with two second half goals and an

Records: #5 UCCS (8-1, 3-0 RMAC), WC (4-1-1, 1-1 RMAC)
Location: Mountain Lion Stadium | Colorado Springs, Colo.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• It was Westminster who jumped on top to start the game with a quick goal from Alexa Maple in the 4
th minute.
• Shortly after the Westminster goal, UCCS went on the attack in the fifth minute with
Tarah Patterson peppering the top woodwork off a free kick that
Tori Maydew attempted to put into net off a header but the Griffins kept UCCS scoreless.
• From there, the first half fell in favor to the Griffins as the Mountain Lions were outshot 7-3 with WC taking the 1-0 lead into halftime.
• The second half started just as the first half did with Westminster finding the back of the net off an Aimee Kurfurst goal. Kurfurst gave the Griffins the 2-0 advantage in the 51
st minute to place the Mountain Lions in their first two-goal deficit of the season.
• Minutes later the Mountain Lions' offense answered back to cut the deficit in half as
Tarah Patterson registered her 31
st career goal off a
Fie Steenberg cross at 54:50.
• The momentum quickly shifted in the game as the Mountain Lions put pressure on the Griffins' backline once again as a goalkeeper handball outside of the box gave UCCS and Patterson a chance for the equalizer. Patterson fired a shot towards the inside of the left post that WC's Kelsey Cracroft dove to stop as UCCS surpassed WC in shots for the half, 3-2.
• With just two and a half minutes left in the match, UCCS pushed to force another Mountain Lion shot that
Tori Maydew headed just over the goal. Not even a minute later, Maydew got off her second shot and did not miss by burying the equalizer at 88:44.
Bri Johnson found the redshirt senior on a shallow cross that Maydew buried in the left side of the net to take the match into overtime.
• In extra minutes, the Mountain Lions found their crease and capitalized at the 98
th minute with
Amelia Junge netting the golden goal off a Patterson assist to cap off an impressive come from behind win.
