COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs Department of Athletics notched its 33
rd straight semester with at least a 3.00 GPA. The Mountains Lions 16 varsity programs collectively earned a 3.32 grade point average following the 2020 fall semester.
"I am so proud of our student-athletes for persevering through a difficult semester with everything that they had to overcome and truly appreciate their excellent work," said UCCS Executive Director of Athletics
Nathan Gibson. "I would also like to thank and recognize all of the faculty, coaches and staff that support our student-athletes academically as we could not continue to excel in the classroom without their support."
Additionally, more than 120 student-athletes were named to the President's List (58) and the Dean's List (69). To qualify for these semester honors, students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 graded hours during a regular semester (Fall or Spring). Students who achieve a 4.0 grade point average are placed on the President's List, and students who achieve a 3.75-3.99 grade point average are placed on the Dean's List.
Fifteen programs recorded at least a 3.03 GPA in the fall semester, including four programs with a 3.50 GPA or higher. The top three team GPA's in the department were women's cross country (3.789 GPA), volleyball (3.623 GPA) and men's golf (3.571 GPA).
