COLORADO SPRING, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team took down South Dakota Mines (SDM) in a slugfest tonight in Gallolgy Events Center. After a back-and-forth game, UCCS took home the victory, 67-55.

All-Time Series: UCCS now leads the all-time series 8-4. The Mountain Lions have won four of the last five matchups including the last two. UCCS has a 4-2 home record against the Hardrockers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams started the game slow as the score was a mere 8-5 at the first media timeout. Lead changes came often as neither team could build any sort of a lead.
- After exchanging blows throughout the half, UCCS went into the locker room leading by a score of 31-30.
- Wyatt Dolberry had the hot hand for UCCS as he went 5-for-9 from the field, 1-for-3 from three, and finished the half with 11 points to lead the team.
- Geoff Kelly led all players with seven boards in the half.
- In the second half the slugfest continued as neither team could put together a run that would build a lead. As the half went on, UCCS' defense finally started to suffocate the Hardrocker offense as they slowly started to pull away with an 8-0 run that made the score 58-50 with 5:25 remaining.
- The Mountain Lions got the lead to 14 with 1:36 left and would never relinquish it as they defeated SDM 67-55.
- Alijah Comithier came alive in the second half with 11 points (2-of-4 from three) and finished with 16 on the night.
STATS FROM THE GAME
- UCCS shot 37.7 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from three. The Mountain Lions had 35 rebounds and 14 assists, compared to SDM's 32 rebounds and 12 assists.
- UCCS caused 14 turnovers as well.
- Wyatt Dolberry led all scorers with 19 points and added eight rebounds to end his night.
- Dolberry had a game high in three-pointers with three.
- Alijah Comithier and Cameron Underwood followed suit with 16 points and 10 points, respectively.
- Geoff Kelly led all players with nine rebounds in the game.
- Jezza McKenzie led all players with six assists.
