Mountain Lions Receive No. 5 Seed in RMAC Tournament

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team received the No. 5 seed for the 2020 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament and will travel to Colorado Mesa University for the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m.
 
The Mountain Lions (17-10, 13-9 RMAC) tied for fifth place in the RMAC standings with a 13-9 conference record, also tying with New Mexico Highlands University and South Dakota School of Mines.  UCCS and the Mavericks faced each other once during the regular season.  CMU escaped Gallogly Events Center with a three-point win over UCCS, 75-72.
 
Dixie State University and Black Hills State University are the Co-RMAC Champions, owning a league best 17-5 record.  The Trailblazers won the tiebreaker with BHSU and are the No. 1 seed in the tournament.
 
The winner between Tuesday's UCCS/CMU matchup will play the winner between No. 1 DSU and No. 8 Regis.  The highest remaining seed following Tuesday's quarterfinal games will host the final four games March 6-7.
 
Quarterfinal Games:
#8 seed Regis at #1 seed Dixie State – 7:00 p.m.
#6 seed New Mexico Highlands at #3 seed Colorado School of Mines – 7:30 p.m.
#5 seed UCCS at #4 seed Colorado Mesa – 7:30 p.m.
#7 seed South Dakota Mines at #2 seed Black Hills State – 7:30 p.m.
