COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the fourth time this season, University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball student-athlete
Padiet Wang has earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors. Wang was named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week after he helped the Mountain Lions to two home wins against South Dakota School of Mines and Black Hills State University.
Wang was also named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 3, and the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Nov 12 and Nov. 19.
In two games, Wang averaged 25 points, five rebounds and five assists while shooting a solid 61.5 percent from the floor (16-of-26), 54.5 percent from three-point range (6-of-11) and 85.7 percent from the free throw line (12-of-14).
On Friday in a 74-62 win over the Hardrockers, the senior guard from Aurora, Colo. recorded 26 points, six assists and four rebounds while making 10-of-15 from the floor and 4-of-5 free throws. The next night against the Yellow Jackets, he poured in 24 points and added four assists, six rebounds, 6-of-11 field goals, 4-of-6 three's and 8-of-9 free throws.
The Mountain Lions (17-9, 13-8 RMAC) will close out the regular season at home this Friday, Feb. 28 against Colorado School of Mines. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Gallogly Events Center.
