KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Playing their final game of the regular season, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team lost a 13-10 decision at Rockhurst University Saturday afternoon at Bourke Field.  Today's setback closes the Mountain Lions regular season at 6-9 overall and 4-5 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games.

The Hawks (10-7, 6-3 RMAC) led the entire game after starting out with a 4-0 lead in seven minutes of action.

Kiera Lowe put the Mountain Lions on the scoreboard in the 10th minute for her 34th goal of the season.  Kyer Frederick converted a free position shot to cut into RU's lead, 4-2, two minutes later.

UCCS closed out the first half with back-to-back goals from Mallory Corrigan and Heather O'Hern to take a one-goal deficit into halftime, 9-8.

Rockhurst's Audrey Ford netted the first goal of the second half but Brianna Martinez matched her goal one minute later.  Ford found the back of the net again to give RU an 11-9 lead, before Lowe completed her hat trick with 19:12 left in regulation.

The Mountain Lions were held scoreless after Lowe's goal as RU tacked on two more goals for the win, 13-10.

UCCS held a 33-32 shots advantage over Rockhurst and won 14 of the 25 draw controls.  The Mountain Lions were successful on 21-of-26 clears and forced the Hawks to commit 22 turnovers.

Four of Lowe's five shots were on target as she led the offense with three goals.

Audrey Napp won a team high five draw controls as Holly Sodomka and Natalie Church each won four.

Gianni Cannon paced the defense, forcing four turnovers and picking up three ground balls.  Ellie O'Brien snatched up a game high six ground balls while causing three turnovers.
