COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – With two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and
Bryn Horton on second base,
Taylor White hit a ball to left field that turned into a walk off single. Horton raced the ball down from Kaitlyn Barlow's throw and slid into home plate to score the game-winning run over Fort Lewis College, 5-4. The Mountain Lions opened the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference pod series with a 2-1 setback to Regis University.
UCCS' split moves them to 13-16 on the season and 9-8 in league games.

Taylor Reidhead gave the Mountain Lions a 1-0 lead in the first inning over FLC on a single that scored
Alex Cook.
FLC (9-22, 4-14 RMAC) took their first lead of the game with three runs in the third inning after the Skyhawks notched two extra base hits from Angelique Elemen (double) and McKenna Hefley (home run). FLC added another run on Barlow's dinger in the fourth inning.
Down 4-1, the Mountain Lions knotted the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Rayle Glover hit a hard single to right field that brought home Cook and
Melissa Martinek.
Peyton Reisman drove in the game-tying run off a single that plated Reidhead.
Two scoreless innings later, Reidhead led off the eighth inning but fouled out. Reisman reached base on a fielding error and extended the play to second base where she was relieved of base running duties from Horton. One batter and one out later, White stepped up to the plate to hit the walk off single.
Glover tallied two hits and drove in two runs on four at-bats. Playing designated hitter, Reidhead went 1-for-3 with one run and one run batted in. Defensively, Reisman led UCCS with 12 putouts at first base.
Cami Duffey started in the circle for UCCS, working 4 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on five hits.
Braelyne Crenshaw finished the game, holding FLC to two hits and no runs in 3 1/3 innings.

Against Regis in the morning game, Reidhead pitched all seven innings and surrendered only two hits while striking out 12 Rangers.
Regis made the most of their two hits, as both Carly Beard and Macy Cox went yard in the third and seventh innings.
The Mountain Lions produced their lone run of the game in the seventh inning on Lancaster's single that drove in pinch runner
Sierra Batchelor.
UCCS finished the game stranding seven runners on base, including two in the final inning.
Lancaster accounted for two of the Mountain Lions four hits against the Rangers.
UCCS will start off Sunday's action at 10 a.m. against the Skyhawks. FLC and Regis will play the second game of the day, with the Mountain Lions and Rangers wrapping up the weekend at approximately 2 p.m.
