Gaibler Scores Career High 29 Points in Mountain Lions Third Straight Win

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Madi Gaibler hit 12 field goals as part of her career high 29 points Friday night to lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team to an 84-69 win over MSU Denver in Gallogly Events Center.

Since falling to the Roadrunners in Denver on Jan. 26 (L, 60-56), the Mountain Lions have now won three straight games while snapping the Roadrunners six-game winning streak.

The Mountain Lions 84 points are the most scored by UCCS this season.  UCCS headed into the locker room with a 32-24 lead and would eventually outscore the Roadrunners in the second half, 52-45, while holding the lead the entire game.

Gaibler, who also attempted a season high 16 shots, finished the game scoring 24 points from the floor and 5-of-6 from the free throw line.

Chelsea Pearson recorded her sixth straight game of making at least three field goals from downtown.  Pearson made 4-of-8 from behind the arc and 4-for-4 from the free throw line to finish with 18 points.  She added five rebounds (all defensive), two assists and a steal.

Caley Barnard was solid from the floor as she tallied 10 points after making 5-of-8 field goals.  Tatum Tellin came off the bench to register 13 points, nine of which came from downtown.  Tellin also dished out a team high five assists.  Gaibler and Tellin combined to score all 42 of UCCS' bench points.

The Mountain Lions started the game sinking 8-of-11 field goals (72.7 percent) in the first quarter, and bested that effort in the final stanza, hitting 78.6 percent (11-14).  UCCS' 56.9 field goal shooting percentage marked a season high.
