Box Score LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Colorado Christian University hit a layup with two ticks left on the clock to break a 77-77 tie and hand the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team a 79-77 loss. The setback moves the Mountain Lions to 6-3 on the season and 3-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The win marked the first of the season for the Cougars, who are now 1-9 overall and 1-3 in league games.
The Mountain Lions held a 62-61 lead with 6:31 remaining in the second half. Over the next four and a half minutes, the Cougars went on a 14-2 run to take a 72-64 lead over UCCS.
Blend Avdili drilled one of his six three-pointers with 31 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 77-77, but the Cougars called Christian Hyatt's number who drove to the hoop from the left side for the game-winning bucket.

Padiet Wang tied for game-high honors with 24 points each. Avdili made six of his 10 attempts from downtown and dished out two assists. Four of Wang's six field goals came from three-point range. He hit 8-of-14 free throws and chipped in seven rebounds and four assists.
Geoff Kelly added two treys and finished with 16 points behind 6-of-9 field goals and 2-of-2 free throws. The trio of Avdili, Wang and Kelly combined to score 64 of the Mountain Lions 77 points.
UCCS was solid from the floor after making 26-of-52, including 12-of-22 from behind the arc (54.5 percent). Free throws marred the Mountain Lions as they made 13-of-20 from the line (65.0 percent) while the Cougars were successful on 22-of-24 attempts (91.7 percent).
The Mountain Lions will return to Gallogly Events Center on Friday, Dec. 20 to play host to Northern New Mexico College at 7:30 p.m.
