Men’s Basketball Charts Double-Digit Road win

DENVER, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team charted a 13-point win over Regis University Friday night at Regis Fieldhouse, 77-64.  The win improves UCCS to 6-2 on the season and 3-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  The loss was the first conference setback for the Rangers as they move to 7-2 on the year and 2-1 in league games.
 
The Mountain Lions controlled the game and dominated the boards.  UCCS led for nearly 27 minutes and outrebounded the Rangers, 40-24, including 15-6 on the offensive glass and 25-18 on the defensive end of the court. 
 
After a three-point lead at halftime, 37-34, UCCS outscored Regis in the second half by 10 points, 40-30.
 
Geoff Kelly scored a game high 15 points after sinking 5-of-8 from the floor, including 4-of-6 from downtown. 
 
Alijah Comithier was second on the team in scoring with 14 points.  Comithier hit 4-of-6 field goals, 3-of-5 three-point field goals and 3-of-7 from the charity stripe.
 
Padiet Wang chipped in 12 points and added six rebounds and dished out a game high six assists.    Parker Gaddis pulled down a game high seven rebounds to go with his eight points and four dimes.
 
The Mountain Lions hit 25-of-54 field goals for 46.3 percent and shot 37.5 percent from long range (9-of-24).  UCCS attempted 29 free throws, sinking 18 to shoot 62.1 percent from the charity stripe.
 
Brian Dawson led the Rangers with 13 points.
 
UCCS will face Colorado Christian University on Saturday in Lakewood, Colo. at 7 p.m.
