GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball team lost to Colorado Mesa University on the road tonight in a 0-3 sweep in Brownson Arena. This is the final road match of the regular season for UCCS and they close the weekend out with a record 10-19, 8-9 RMAC.
he Mountain Lions fought hard in the first set just barely falling to the Mavericks, 24-26. CMU picked up their game in the second set, besting UCCS, 25-14. After a hard defeat UCCS put up a fight in the final set, but ultimately fell 23-25.
Grace Nelson helped offensively accumulating 11 kills for UCCS, while Raelynn Edge orchestrated 28 assists for the match.
Jordyn Kinsey and Aly Morgan were kept busy on the back line racking up 10 and nine digs, respectively. Lauryn Brown also put in work at the net with five blocks. However, Ashton Reese and Kasie Gilfert were a strong duo for CMU accumulating 23 kills combined.
The Mountain Lions come back next weekend on Friday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. They'll host Colorado School of Mines for their Senior Night.
