COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball team closed out their final regular season match tonight against Colorado School of Mines (20-6, 13-5 RMAC) at home in Gallogly Events Center. The Mountain Lions were swept by the Orediggers (-24, -16, -19).
UCCS started the night strong taking the first set to 24-26, but CSM found their rhythm in sets two and three winning both by scores of 16-25 and 19-25. With this loss UCCS will finish the regular season with a 10-16 overall record and an 8-10 RMAC record.
Senior
Grace Nelson had a great final regular season match finishing with a .294 hitting percentage and leading the team with 14 kills.
Raelynn Edge added another 24 assists under her belt to help set up the offense.
Jordyn Kinsey and
Lauren Brown worked together on defense. Kinsey covered the back line with 11 digs for the match while Brown covered the net with eight blocks.
The Mountain Lions fought hard tonight, but the Oredigger's defense kept UCCS' hitting percentage to just .183 while Lindsey Jin and Abby Tiesman doubled up on offense racking up 26 kills combined for CSM.
