Mountain Lions Leave Texas with a 70-58 Loss

LUBBOCK, Texas – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team left Texas this weekend with a 70-58 loss to St. Mary's University Saturday evening at the Lubbock Christian University Classic.
 
Madi Gaibler notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  She hit 5-of-12 from the floor while four of her 10 caroms came on the offensive glass.  She also dished out four assists and added a steal. 
 
Abby Feickert led the Mountain Lions offense with 22 points.  She drilled home eight field goals, half of which were behind the arc.  She added six rebounds, two assists and a steal. 
 
UCCS attempted 10 fewer free throws than the Rattlers but hit on all six attempts.  The Mountain Lions held a six-rebound advantage over SMU and posted nine points off second chance attempts.
 
SMU's Soteria Banks led both teams with 23 points.  She made all five three-point attempts and went 2-for-2 from the line.
 
The Mountain Lions will continue their road trip when they head to the great Northwest to face Simon Fraser University on Nov. 22 and Western Washington University on Saturday.  Both games will tip off at 8 p.m. (MT).
