  • In the game against WC, UCCS struggled in the first half as they only had four shots (one on goal). WC was able to get one passed Scott Jensen in the 16th minute to make the score 1-0 after the first half.
  • UCCS picked it up in the second half as they outshot WC 12-7 (four on goal), but again could not get one passed the keeper. WC had different fortunes as they were able to score two goals in the second half, including one in the 88th minute to officially put the game away.
  • The Mountain Lions outshot the Griffins 16-13 in the game, but just couldn't manage to score.
  • The game on Sunday played out in a similar fashion as UCCS did not play well in the first half while DSU did. DSU came out on fire as they scored two goals in the first 15 minutes of the game and outshot UCCS 12-7.
  • UCCS would pick up their energy in the second half as they came out aggressive offensively, and it paid off as Alex VonHolle was able to weave through the Trailblazer defense for a goal in the 48th minute. With the score 2-1, UCCS tried desperately to tie the game as they outshot DSU 8-5 in the second half.
  • Unfortunately, the hope of a comeback was thwarted as DSU scored in the 87th minute to take a 3-1 lead and eventually the victory.
