COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Playing their first conference game of the season, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team fell to Rockhurst, at home, 11-10.
Trailing 7-4 early in the second half, the Mountain Lions scored four straight to take a one goal lead.
However, the visiting Hawks responded down the stretch, scoring three of the final four goals of the game.
A total of six players scored for UCCS as both
Brianna Martinez and
Vanessa Nelson each scored a team-high three goals.
Defensively,
Ellie O'Brien had four caused turnovers for the Mountain Lions, who slip to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in the RMAC.
The team is off until Monday when they step of their conference schedule when they host Saint Michael's at 5 p.m. inside Mountain Lion Stadium.
