PUEBLO, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball team earned the series sweep against CSU-Pueblo on Saturday with wins of 2-0 and 7-3 over their Steel & Silver Series rivals.
The first game was the second shutout of the series as
Taylor Reidhead had eight strikeouts while allowing just two hits over seven innings of work as she improved to 3-6 on the season.
Melissa Martinek scored off a
Lexi Belligan double in the third inning before
Kylie Barnard made it home off a single from
Alex Cook in the seventh inning.
In the second game, UCCS used a four-run first inning to propel them past the Thunderwolves. They also added runs in fifth, sixth, and seventh innings that included a home run by Raylee Glover.
Belligan finished the game with two runs off three hits and an RBI.
The two wins puts the Mountain Lions at 13-23 overall and 8-16 in the RMAC. They continue their road trip next weekend with a series at Adams State.
