PUEBLO, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball team took two games on the road at CSU-Pueblo on Saturday, earning wins by the scores of 1-0 and 9-6.
The Mountain Lions got the shutout victory in the first game as
Taylor Reidhead allowed just four hits while striking out 10 batters. The performance was her third win of the season.
The lone run came the top of the third inning when
Lexi Belligan single through to left field, which drove in
Whitney Weber.
In the second game, UCCS rallied from being down two runs through four innings when they scored five runs in the fifth inning. The burst was capped off by a two-run blast by
Meghan Waidler that cleared the right field fence.
Cami Duffey earned her fifth win of the season after pitching 5.1 innings for the Mountain Lions.
The two wins puts UCCS at 11-23 overall while improved their RMAC record to 6-16. The team will look to earn points in the
Steel & Silver Series tomorrow in another doubleheader against the Thunderwolves at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
