LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team dropped the final game of the four-game series at Colorado Christian, 9-5, on Sunday.
Trailing 3-0, the Mountain Lions went ahead by one after scoring four runs in the fourth inning when
Scott Martinez cleared the bases with a grand slam.
However, the Cougars responded two innings later a two-run blast after Joel Manzano drove in a run with a double.
Colorado Christian tacked on three more runs over the final two innings to seal the win.
Bailey Hansen took the loss after pitching 5.1 innings for the Mountain Lions, striking out four batters and walking just two.
UCCS slipped to 15-13 overall and 9-7 in the conference as they return home this Thursday when they start a four-game series against Colorado School of Mines. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
