LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team picked up two more games against Colorado Christian on Saturday, winning the doubleheader with scores of 14-5 and 8-6.
In the first game, UCCS pulled out to an 8-0 lead, which was capped off with a home run by
Zach Hall in the fourth inning. The Mountain Lions then added five more runs in the seventh to seal the win after the Cougars score four runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Daniel Silva improved to 2-1 on the mound after lasting the full seven innings for UCCS.
Then in the second game, Jaimie Crabtree hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to make it a 7-5 lead before
Colin Ludwig scored on a wild pitch. The Mountain Lions led by as much as five runs earlier in the game.
Joe Slocum earned the win as he improved to 4-1 on the season after working 5.1 innings, striking out four batters.
The two wins improve UCCS' record to 15-12 overall and 9-6 in the RMAC. They will look to earn the series sweep on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
