COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Despite taking the series, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team dropped the finale on Sunday, 12-6, against Adams State.
The visiting Grizzlies scored 10 runs over the first four innings before the Mountain Lions stopped the bleeding when
Jaeden Hegmann drove in
Efrain Medina with a double to right center.
UCCS made it a game in the seventh with a three-run blast over the left field fence before
Bryan Chapin hit a two-run homer to make it a 10-6 game.
But Adams State tacked on runs in the eighth and ninth to seal their first win of the season.
Bailey Hansen took the loss with three innings of work.
