Baseball Falls to Adams State in Series Finale

The visiting Grizzlies picked up their first win of the season with a 12-6 result

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Despite taking the series, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team dropped the finale on Sunday, 12-6, against Adams State.

The visiting Grizzlies scored 10 runs over the first four innings before the Mountain Lions stopped the bleeding when Jaeden Hegmann drove in Efrain Medina with a double to right center.

UCCS made it a game in the seventh with a three-run blast over the left field fence before Bryan Chapin hit a two-run homer to make it a 10-6 game.

But Adams State tacked on runs in the eighth and ninth to seal their first win of the season.

Bailey Hansen took the loss with three innings of work.

???????UCCS slips to .500 with a 6-6 RMAC record and 12-12 overall as they hit the road next weekend at Colorado Christian.
