COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team rolled to a 15-3 win over Adams State in the series opener Friday afternoon.
The Mountain Lions jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning, which was highlighted by
Jeremy Hochmuth blasting a three-run homer. The senior finished with two home runs in the game with the second coming as a solo hit over the fence in the fourth inning.
Hochmuth led with four RBIs as
Zach Hall,
Efrain Medina, and
Matthew McDermott each added two RBIs for UCCS.
On the mound,
Colin Cicere earned the win after going six innings, striking out 10 batters while allowing just one run on four hits.
The win lifts the Mountain Lions to 10-11 overall and 4-5 in the RMAC.
The two teams are back it Saturday with a doubleheader. The games are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. inside Mountain Lion Park.
