COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Playing their second game in three days, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team fell to Southern Connecticut State at home on Wednesday, 17-16.
The Mountain Lions rallied late, scoring five of the game's final six goals, but were unable to come away with the win.
UCCS were led by a trio of players who scored three goals each, including
Natalie Church and
Melissa Reeves who also recorded an assist to lead the team with four points.
Church, along with
Emma Becker, notched two caused turnovers for the Mountain Lions. In goal, Becker had 14 saves, which is a season high for the freshman.
The setback puts UCCS at 4-4 as they resume their conference schedule on Saturday when they host Fort Lewis inside Mountain Lion Stadium at 1 p.m.
