GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs wrapped-up their four-game series at No. 8 Colorado Mesa on Sunday with an 8-4 setback.
The Mountain Lions led early on 2-0 after
Bryan Chapin picked up RBIs in the first and third innings by driving in
Zach Hall and
Efrain Medina.
However, the lead wouldn't last as the Mavericks scored three runs in the bottom of the third to take a 3-2 lead. They would then take a commanding lead in the seventh inning with a grand slam by Tanner Rempel.
The loss puts UCCS at 9-11 overall while slipping to 3-5 in the RMAC. The team returns home to Mountain Lion Park next weekend when they host Adams State. The first game is scheduled for 2 p.m. this Friday.
