GOLDEN, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball team dropped a pair of road game against Colorado School of Mines on Saturday.
After falling in the first game 7-3, the Mountain Lions were narrowly defeated 2-1 in the second game.
The first game saw UCCS give up seven runs through the first four innings before getting three runs back.
Melissa Martinek led the team with a pair of hits and a run in the setback.
In the second game, UCCS held the Orediggers to just two runs off five hits as
Taylor Reidhead posted four strikeouts.
Alex Cook drove in
Whitney Weber in the top of the seventh on a single to avoid the shutout.
The Mountain Lions slipped to 8-14 and 3-7 in the RMAC as they look to get back on track Sunday with two more games against Mines. Games are slated for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
