COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team matched their program record of points scored in a game as they cruised to a 118-81 win over Colorado Christian on Senior Night.
The Mountain Lions started the game with an 11-0 run and never looked back as they led by as much as 41 points late in the second half.
UCCS was led by
Elijah Ross who poured in 26 points on 7 of 8 shooting, which included a pair of three-pointers, as well as going 10 of 10 at the line. The guard also had a team-high seven rebounds and four assists.
Dalton Walker added 24 points as senior
Jonathan Barnes pitched in 12 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the field.
Both senior
Ryan VanPelt and freshman
Isaiah Wilson chipped in 11 points.
Justin Smith had eight points.
The win caps off a strong ending to the regular season as UCCS improved to 15-13 overall and 12-10 in the RMAC.
The Mountain Lions, who have won four-straight, enters the RMAC Tournament as the No. 6-seed and will travel to take on No. 3-seed Colorado School of Mines this Tuesday in the quarterfinals.
