GUNNISON, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs Head Men's Basketball Coach Jeff Culver recorded his 100th win for the Mountain Lions program after UCCS defeated Western State Colorado University Saturday night, 103-94, in Gunnison, Colo.

The 103 points are the second most scored by the Mountain Lions this season as they improve to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

A second half surge by the Mountain Lions produced 64 points.  Trailing by as many as 16 points in the first half, UCCS closed the period on a 13-0 run to take a three-point deficit into halftime, 39-42.  Both teams traded leads in the first part of the second half before DaRaun Clark made a layup with 11:41 left in the game to give UCCS a 58-57 lead.  The Mountain Lions would not trail the rest of the game.

Clark scored all 19 of his points in the second half as six Mountain Lions scored at least 12 points against WSCU.  Clark finished the game hitting 6-of-11 field goals, two three-point field goals and 5-of-6 free throws.  He also stole the ball twice and pulled down two rebounds.

Nine of Brandon Malone's 18 points came from behind the arc.  Malone totaled six made field goals and three free throws to go with three steals and two assists.

Isaiah Wilson also hit three treys on his way to 13 points and four dimes.  Dalton Walker made all five free throw attempts to finish with 13 points.  Walker and Wilson led a bench unit that outscored Western State's bench, 40-25.

Both Blend Avdili and Padiet Wang chipped in 12 points.  Wang tallied a team high five assists.
