LARAMIE, Wyo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team headed North Tuesday evening to Laramie, Wyo. to face the University of Wyoming in an exhibition game. The Mountain Lions fell to UW at the Arena-Auditorium, 98-37.
UCCS doubled their first half offensive output in the second half. UCCS was held to 11 first half points after scoring five points in the first stanza and six points in the second. The Mountain Lions came out of halftime to net 26 second half points.
After converting 4-of-29 field goals in the first half, UCCS lit up the basket in the third quarter, making 5-of-8 field goals for 62.5 percent. The Mountain Lions finished the game shooting 26.5 percent from the floor (13-of-49), but 42.9 percent from long range (6-of-14) and 71.4 percent from the free throw line (5-of-7).
Jae Ferrin tallied 10 points, including seven in the second half, and matched a team high four rebounds.
Elly Johnson and
Maddie Golla added four caroms each. Golla came off the bench to net six points, all of which came from three-point range.
The Mountain Lions will return home to Gallogly Events Center on Saturday, Nov. 17 to play host to Northern New Mexico College in an exhibition game at 5:30 p.m.
