DENVER, Colo. – The No. 17 University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team continued their high level of offensive as the Mountain Lions defeated the University of Regis 3-1 in their final regular season match.
Freshman
Savannah Mills and sophomore
Tori Maydew each netted a goal while
Madison Tominello and
Tarah Patterson recorded an assist. Senior
Anna Gregg registered both a goal and an assist in the match.
The Mountain Lions came to strike first in the first half as Patterson connected with Gregg in the 12
th minute to take the 1-0 lead. In the 22
nd minute, Mills followed Gregg's goal with a break away play that ended with Mills splitting the post to make it 2-0. The Rangers answered before half as Cat Devitt met on a cross and headed their first score of the match to shorten the UCCS lead 2-1.

Kaylyn Smith came to hold Regis out of goal in the second while turning around to add to their lead as Maydew found the back of the net off of the Gregg assist to give UCCS the 3-1 victory.
The Mountain Lions held the advantage in shots (16-10), shots on goal (7-6), corner kicks (9-3), and saves (5-4) over Regis.
With Conference tournament play starting next week, UCCS currently stands as the No. 2 seed finishing with a 14-2-1 overall record, 12-1 RMAC record, and 36 conference points. The 2018 RMAC Women's Soccer Tournament Bracket will be released later this afternoon which will determine the Mountain Lions' opponent as they host the quarterfinal match on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
