COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team fell at home Saturday to CSU-Pueblo in the Steel & Silver Rivalry game, 81-71.
After heading into the locker rooms tied 33-33, it was the visiting Thunderwolves who broke away in the second half.
Early on in the second half, CSU-Pueblo went on a 15-2 run over three and a half minutes to take a commanding 15-point lead. The run was capped off by a layup from Josh Smith who ended the night 13 points.
The Thunderwolves' Jason Anderson led all scorers with 22 points as
Elijah Ross led the Mountain Lions with 19 points.
Dalton Walker added 10 points for UCCS, who shot 40.4 percent from the field.
The loss puts UCCS at 6-11 overall and 3-8 in the RMAC as they are back in action Friday evening when they host Western State in the annual Blackout Night inside Gallogly Events Center.
